We would be grateful, if you would consider us generously when making or amending your will so that you can have an eternal share in the critical work that we do. IMPORTANT
POINTS1. - Your Will is a written statement which ensures that your family, friends and charitable institutions to whom you want to leave cash or property, receive exactly what you intended, without legal tangles.
2. - When a bequest is made to a non-profit organisation such as ours, we would prefer if the words "for general purposes of Campus Crisis Centre Inc. " be added, rather than specifying the use of the gift. In this way your gift can be allocated to existing priorities of the association. It is better to specify a percentage share rather than a fixed dollar sum. This helps with the effects of inflation.
3. - You should make fair provision for immediate family or they may challenge your Will in Court. If you outlive your named beneficiaries, then you can provide for this possibility by naming a non-profit organisation such ours as your residual beneficiary even though we may be a Primary Beneficiary to receive a specific gift.
4. - In your will you should nominate one or two executors. It is wise to appoint a Solicitor and leave the will in a safe place with them so that it can be located when required.
FORMS OF BEQUEST (which may be used in a will)
I give devise and bequeath (free of all taxes, duties or probate) to Campus Crisis Centre Inc. of 1/48 Balaclava Rd, East S. Kilda 3183, Victoria, Australia
A) A fixed percentage of my Estate, namely ……………..
(or if a specific sum of monies, real estate or personal property describe same)
AND/OR
B) A fixed percentage or my residuary Estate, namely ……………..
to be applied for the general purposes of Campus Crisis Centre Inc. and I declare that the receipt of the President of Campus Crisis Centre Inc. shall be sufficient discharge to my Executors for payment thereof.
